
Visuals during development
During the very early stages of the development, the visuals of about everything are not final. Far from it.
My first big objectives is about making all the base mecanics work properly. If there something to adjust when the final visuals comes in, there I'll do that then.
For now, for exemple, the player character has only one sprite, it's the same for every direction and I do not need to have a perfect all direction character to make it go in all direction. That's why only made sprite with arrow to show what direction the character goes ( 8 directions ) and not not have animation what so ever to it.
The same goes for enemies and boss, tileset for the HUB , for the dungeons , for the objects like portals in the dungeons HUB house are simply place holder.
The only goal I have to give myself, is to make the foundations of what the game will "feel like".
Here is something I found out to show you why I do not want to give time to things I don't need -> After making my character be able to shoot a certain spell in the 8th directions the character can go, I realized that the way I need to press a key in a specific direction to have the spell be send that said direction, is very anoying. I mean, that core gameplay, well the very base I want to be ok with if I can go further, so I'll be reworking that before going forward to bigger steps in the game making.
